Key Responsibilities
- Lead firmware development for coherent optical modules from architecture through production.
- Design and implement firmware for 400ZR/ZR+ and 800ZR optical modules.
- Develop advanced firmware components including bootloaders and hardware abstraction layers (HAL).
- Implement hitless firmware upgrade capabilities.
- Collaborate with DSP, hardware, ATE, validation, and test engineering teams.
- Perform firmware bring-up, calibration, validation, debugging, and production release.
- Troubleshoot complex embedded hardware and firmware issues.
- Support customer escalations and field issue resolution.
- Develop and maintain high-quality embedded software using C, C++, and Python.
- Utilize Jira, GitLab, and CI/CD workflows for firmware development and release management.
- Ensure firmware quality, scalability, and production readiness.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline.
Experience
- 15+ years of embedded software and firmware development experience.
- Extensive experience with SoC-based embedded platforms.
- Proven experience leading firmware architecture and development for complex hardware products.
