Job Overview

An exciting opportunity is available for an Application Technical Specialist (806911) to support enterprise application development for the State of Idaho (IDHW) through Nanda Technologies. This 12-month contract position is based in Boise, Idaho, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring onsite collaboration as needed. Two openings are available for experienced Java enterprise developers who are passionate about building scalable, secure, and high-performance applications.

The successful candidate will design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise Java applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams including product owners, quality assurance professionals, and business stakeholders. The role requires expertise across front-end, back-end, and middle-tier development, web services, middleware integration, Oracle databases, and enterprise application servers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Java/J2EE applications.
  • Build scalable, secure, and high-performance software solutions.
  • Develop and maintain front-end, back-end, and middle-tier components.
  • Design and implement web services using JAX-WS.
  • Integrate third-party middleware and enterprise systems.
  • Develop applications using Spring Framework and Struts.
  • Write efficient Oracle SQL queries and support database integration.
  • Deploy and support applications on JBoss Application Server.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Collaborate with QA, business analysts, and product teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Utilize AI and machine learning-enabled development tools to improve productivity.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

  • 5+ years of Java/J2EE application development experience.
  • 5+ years of Web and Application Server experience.
  • 3+ years of Design Patterns experience.
  • 3+ years of third-party middleware integration.
  • 3+ years of Web Services development and implementation.
  • 2+ years of Spring Framework experience.
  • 2+ years of Struts-based web application development.
  • 2+ years of JAX-WS Web Services (Top-down and Bottom-up).
  • 2+ years of Oracle SQL experience.
