Key Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and optimize enterprise PostgreSQL database environments.
- Monitor database health, availability, and overall system performance.
- Perform database performance tuning and query optimization.
- Configure and maintain PostgreSQL replication technologies.
- Manage repmgr clustering, failover, and node recovery.
- Plan and execute backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Support migration projects from on-premises infrastructure to cloud platforms.
- Troubleshoot database issues and implement long-term solutions.
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams on database architecture.
- Maintain database security, availability, and operational best practices.
- Support Oracle database environments when required.
- Automate routine database administration tasks using scripting and automation tools.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Experience
- Proven experience as a PostgreSQL Database Administrator in enterprise environments.
- Experience supporting high-availability production database systems.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture.
- WAL, MVCC, and vacuum process expertise.
- Performance tuning and query optimization.
- Troubleshooting complex PostgreSQL issues.
- repmgr clustering, failover, and node recovery.
- Logical replication and streaming replication.
- Backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
- Cloud migration strategies.
- Oracle Database Administration.
- RMAN, Goldengate, and Exadata.
- pgAdmin, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Shell scripting and Python.
- Ansible and Terraform.
Soft Skills
