Job Overview

A leading organization is seeking an experienced Techno-Functional Temenos Transact Consultant with 10–15 years of experience in Temenos Transact/T24 implementation, upgrades, migrations, production support, and cutover management. The role is focused on banking and core banking technology, with significant responsibility across technical and functional areas.

The successful candidate will bring strong expertise in General Ledger (GL), Financial Accounting, Accounting Schemas, COB processing, migration, reconciliation, cutover and runback management, and Transact technical customization. The consultant will work closely with banking stakeholders, business users, Finance and Operations teams, testing teams, Infrastructure and DBA teams, and Temenos/vendor teams.

Key Responsibilities

Cutover & Runback Management

• Plan, coordinate, and execute technical and functional cutover activities for Temenos Transact upgrades, migrations, implementations, and module deployments.
• Develop comprehensive cutover plans, execution schedules, runbooks, and dependency matrices.
• Define robust runback and rollback strategies, procedures, and contingency plans.
• Lead dry runs, mock cutovers, dress rehearsals, and live go-live activities.
• Coordinate Infrastructure, DBA, Application Support, Testing, Business, Operations, and Temenos/vendor teams.
• Track cutover activities, dependencies, risks, issues, and milestones.
• Provide technical and functional decision-making during critical go-live and migration activities.
• Ensure effective handover from cutover teams to production support and business operations.

General Ledger & Financial Accounting

• Provide techno-functional leadership for Temenos Transact GL and Accounting modules.
• Work extensively with Accounting Schema, CRF, Accounting Entries, Position Management, and Chart of Accounts.
• Lead GL reconciliation, balance migration, legacy GL mapping, Chart of Accounts mapping, and trial balance validation.
• Validate opening balances and accounting positions during migration and cutover.
• Troubleshoot accounting entry anomalies, out-of-balance conditions, GL discrepancies, and post-migration accounting issues.
• Analyze accounting flows across Transact modules and downstream financial systems.
• Support Finance and business users in validating accounting results and resolving reconciliation issues.
• Maintain accounting integrity throughout migration, upgrade, and post-go-live activities.

Techno-Functional Consulting & Support

• Conduct technical and functional analysis of Temenos Transact/T24 requirements and production issues.
• Perform parameterization, configuration, customization, and technical troubleshooting.
• Work with TAFJ/TAFC, L3 code, User Exits, Enquiries, Versions, Routines, and Transact development components.
• Analyze and troubleshoot complex application and integration issues.
• Review and troubleshoot COB processing, batch execution, accounting runs, and GL balance updates.
• Analyze COB logs to identify processing failures, performance bottlenecks, and application issues.
• Support performance analysis and optimization of critical Transact processes.
• Provide L3 technical and functional support for production and business-critical incidents.
• Identify root causes and implement permanent technical and functional solutions.

Migration & Reconciliation

• Support Temenos Transact data migration and upgrade programs.
• Validate migrated customer, account, balance, GL, and transaction data.
• Define and execute data reconciliation strategies.
• Investigate data mismatches, balance differences, accounting discrepancies, and migration exceptions.
• Support mock migrations and reconciliation cycles before production cutover.
• Ensure migration results meet agreed functional, financial, and technical acceptance criteria.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

• Collaborate with banking stakeholders, Finance, Operations, IT, Business Units, Testing teams, Infrastructure, DBAs, and vendor teams.
• Provide execution status, issue summaries, risk assessments, and mitigation plans to senior management.
• Coordinate with Temenos and third-party vendors on complex technical and functional issues.
• Translate business and accounting requirements into appropriate Transact solutions.
• Participate in technical and functional governance meetings.
• Provide clear communication during implementation, migration, go-live, and production events.

Requirements & Qualifications

• 10–15 years of professional experience in banking technology and Temenos Transact/T24.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Banking, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Strong hands-on experience with Temenos Transact/T24.
• Strong techno-functional understanding of core banking systems.
• Extensive experience with Temenos Transact GL and Accounting.
• Strong knowledge of:

• Strong understanding of banking accounting processes and financial reconciliation.
• Experience working with databases and analyzing application and COB logs is desirable.
• Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills.

Cutover & Migration Expertise

Candidates should have demonstrated experience in:

• Core banking cutover planning and execution.
• Mock cutover and dress rehearsal management.
• Go-live planning and command-center coordination.
• Runback and rollback planning and execution.
• Data migration and reconciliation.
• GL and financial balance migration.
• Post-cutover validation.
• Business continuity and contingency planning.
• Production stabilization following go-live.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with large-scale Temenos Transact transformation, upgrade, or migration programs.
• Experience in banking GL and financial accounting transformation.
• Previous experience working directly with banks and business stakeholders.
• Experience managing critical production incidents and go-live activities.
• GCC/Middle East banking project experience is highly desirable.
• Temenos certification or relevant banking/core-banking certification is an advantage.
