Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Web3, blockchain, and artificial intelligence to join a growing technology team in Dubai. The role is focused on designing, building, and supporting secure, scalable, and maintainable software across digital-asset and connected-commerce platforms.
The successful candidate will remain hands-on while taking ownership of technical execution across architecture, development, code review, release management, production support, and reliability. The position involves modern frontend and backend development, APIs, cloud-native infrastructure, event-driven systems, databases, AI-assisted engineering, and Web3 technologies. The role may also develop into a technical leadership position, including responsibility for mentoring and coordinating a small cross-functional engineering team.
A key focus of the position is financial and transactional correctness. The successful candidate will work on systems where customer balances, transactions, automated payouts, reconciliation, data integrity, security, and auditability are critical. Key Responsibilities
Engineering Leadership & Delivery
- Lead technical planning, prioritization, and day-to-day engineering execution.
- Allocate development tasks, remove technical blockers, and escalate risks appropriately.
- Mentor engineers and promote clear ownership and reliable delivery.
- Translate product requirements into practical engineering solutions.
- Break complex technical requirements into actionable development tasks.
Architecture & Software Quality
- Own solution architecture and key technical decisions.
- Select technologies based on scalability, security, cost, maintainability, and operational requirements.
- Review critical code and maintain coding, testing, documentation, and release standards.
- Manage technical debt and obsolete dependencies.
- Manage release branches, hotfixes, conflict resolution, and production release quality.
- Ensure software delivered to production meets established engineering standards.
Web3, Transactions & Financial Integrity
- Develop and support software involving digital assets and Web3 technologies.
- Ensure transactional integrity across systems handling customer balances and payouts.
- Implement appropriate approaches to idempotency, precise decimal handling, reconciliation, and audit trails.
- Investigate and resolve production issues affecting balances, transactions, or payouts.
- Lead root-cause analysis and implement verified corrective actions.
AI-Assisted Engineering
- Use approved AI coding assistants and development agents responsibly.
- Apply mandatory human review, testing, confidentiality, and security controls to AI-assisted development.
- Guide AI integrations involving LLMs, APIs, RAG, vector search, tool calling, MCP, and agentic workflows where applicable.
- Establish appropriate evaluation, guardrails, observability, and cost controls for AI solutions.
Cloud, DevSecOps & Reliability
- Guide cloud-native application delivery and infrastructure practices.
- Work with containers, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD automation.
- Implement secure software development lifecycle controls.
- Support dependency, secrets, SAST, DAST, SCA, SBOM, and least-privilege security practices.
- Ensure effective application logging, metrics, tracing, monitoring, and alerting.
- Participate in incident response, root-cause analysis, and corrective action processes.
Application, API & Data Engineering
- Provide hands-on technical guidance across frontend and backend development.
- Design and integrate APIs, distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and third-party integrations.
- Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms.
- Optimize application performance, resilience, and reliability.
- Design and maintain relational and document-based data models.
- Develop database schemas, indexes, and production-safe migrations.
- Analyze query and transaction performance at production scale.
- Plan and execute data migrations, backfills, and corrective data operations safely.
- Ensure data integrity, retention, backup, and recoverability requirements.
- Develop customer-facing applications and internal administration and back-office platforms.
Device & Firmware Operations
- Coordinate firmware and OTA releases where applicable.
- Support vendor updates and device compatibility activities.
- Manage device-related technical issues, RMA processes, and serial-number changes where required.
Collaboration & Governance
- Work closely with Product, Project Management, QA, Infrastructure, Security, Data, and Management teams.
- Coordinate with technical vendors and support capacity and tooling planning.
- Maintain architecture, API, technical, and operational runbook documentation.
- Follow company security, confidentiality, change-management, and governance requirements.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- 3+ years of technical leadership or equivalent technical ownership experience.
- Proven experience delivering production-grade applications and services across the full software development lifecycle.
- Strong experience across architecture, software development, code review, deployment, release management, and production support.
- Strong practical experience with cloud technologies, CI/CD, DevOps, DevSecOps, and AI-assisted engineering.
- Hands-on Web3 and blockchain development experience is required.
- Practical AI/ML or AI-powered application development experience is required.
- Experience working with scalable APIs, distributed systems, and modern application architectures.
- Experience with firmware, OTA, or connected-device operations is beneficial where relevant.
- Experience working in small engineering teams where developers take ownership across design, implementation, review, deployment, and support.
- Experience in financially sensitive or regulated environments is a significant advantage.
