Job Overview

An opportunity is available for a Mid-Level Security Analyst to join the SOC & Threat Monitoring Department of Iraq’s First Digital Bank. The role focuses on security monitoring, threat analysis, incident investigation, and security operations, with responsibility for handling medium-to-high severity SIEM alerts and supporting the organization’s broader cybersecurity operations.

The successful candidate will investigate and triage security events, perform deep-dive analysis using logs, network packets, and endpoint telemetry, and support incident response activities. The position also involves SOAR playbook execution, threat hunting, cyber threat intelligence activities, MITRE ATT&CK mapping, and quality assurance of Tier 1 analyst investigations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and triage medium-to-high severity SIEM alerts within defined service-level agreements.
  • Perform detailed security event analysis, including log correlation, packet analysis, and endpoint telemetry analysis.
  • Escalate confirmed or suspected P1/P2 security incidents to the SOC Manager with comprehensive investigation summaries.
  • Execute SOAR playbooks and recommend improvements or new playbook development.
  • Participate in threat hunting activities using hypothesis-driven analysis and the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
  • Maintain and enrich the organization’s IOC and threat intelligence database.
  • Analyze malware behavior and extract relevant indicators of compromise.
  • Guide and quality-assure Tier 1 analyst investigations.
  • Support effective shift handovers and continuity of SOC operations.
  • Prepare shift-end investigation reports.
  • Contribute to weekly SOC reporting and security monitoring documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement of SOC workflows and threat detection capabilities.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Information Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in security monitoring and incident analysis is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one enterprise SIEM platform.
  • Strong understanding of multi-source log and event correlation and security alert triage.
  • Knowledge of malware behavior analysis and IOC extraction.
  • Experience with SOAR playbook execution and workflow optimization.
  • Understanding of MITRE ATT&CK tactics, techniques, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of threat hunting methodologies and techniques.
  • Strong incident investigation and technical reporting skills.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification is required at minimum.
  • CompTIA CySA+, GCIH, or GSOC certification is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, investigation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to communicate security findings clearly and concisely.
