Job Overview
SIGMA is hiring a Senior Technical Architect for a semi-government entity in Saudi Arabia. This is a senior-level architecture opportunity for an experienced technology professional with a strong background in software architecture, enterprise architecture, IoT platforms, smart solutions, distributed systems, and large-scale digital transformation projects.
The successful candidate will play a key role in defining and governing enterprise and solution architecture for complex technology environments. The position requires proven experience designing highly scalable and resilient platforms supporting more than 100,000 connected devices or endpoints, along with strong expertise in microservices, cloud-native architecture, API management, event-driven architecture, and data streaming.
This role offers significant career growth potential for an architect who has led large-scale technology initiatives and technical teams. Experience in IoT, smart cities, telecommunications, government, energy, or transportation mega-projects will be highly valued. TOGAF and cloud certifications are advantageous and can support continued professional development and career progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead software and enterprise architecture initiatives for large-scale technology projects.
- Define scalable, secure, highly available, and resilient architecture solutions.
- Develop and review High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation.
- Design IoT architecture and smart solutions capable of supporting 100,000+ connected devices and endpoints.
- Lead architecture for microservices, distributed systems, and cloud-native platforms.
- Design and govern API management, event-driven architecture, and data-streaming solutions.
- Provide technical direction across Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Lead enterprise integration and solution architecture initiatives.
- Establish and maintain architecture governance standards, principles, and technical guidelines.
- Evaluate technology solutions for scalability, performance, availability, security, and resiliency.
- Lead and mentor technical and architecture teams.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, technology leadership, project teams, and external partners.
- Ensure architecture decisions align with enterprise technology strategies and long-term business objectives.
- Support technical assessments, solution evaluations, and architectural decision-making.
- Contribute to large-scale digital transformation and smart technology initiatives.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 12+ years of experience in software architecture or enterprise architecture.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience working as a Lead Architect or Principal Architect on large-scale projects.
- Strong expertise in IoT architecture and smart solutions.
- Proven experience managing or architecting platforms supporting 100,000+ connected devices or endpoints.
- Strong knowledge of microservices and distributed systems.
- Extensive experience with cloud-native architecture.
- Strong expertise in API management, event-driven architecture, and data streaming.
- Hands-on knowledge of Kafka, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Strong experience with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP cloud platforms.
- Extensive experience in enterprise integration and solution architecture.
- Strong understanding of high availability, scalability, performance, and resiliency engineering.
- Proven experience leading HLD and LLD activities.
- Experience with architecture governance and technical team leadership.
- Mega-project experience in IoT, Smart Cities, Telecom, Government, Energy, or Transportation is highly preferred.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong technical leadership and problem-solving capabilities.
- TOGAF certification is an advantage.
- Relevant AWS, Azure, GCP, or other recognized cloud certifications are an advantage.
