Job Overview

A career opportunity is available for a Senior Site Engineer – Mechanical to work on a Desalination / Reverse Osmosis (RO) Plant project in Qatar. The position is suited to experienced mechanical engineering professionals with strong GCC construction experience and exposure to Oil & Gas and desalination projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising mechanical site activities, including metallic piping erection, mechanical equipment installation and testing, manpower and material coordination, and daily construction activities. The role requires close coordination with the Site Manager, main contractor, client, and project teams while ensuring compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, QA/QC requirements, HSE standards, and construction schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise mechanical construction and site activities for the desalination/RO plant project.
• Oversee metallic piping erection activities and ensure execution according to approved drawings and specifications.
• Supervise mechanical equipment installation, testing, and related site activities.
• Monitor daily site activities, manpower allocation, materials, and construction progress.
• Review and ensure compliance with approved engineering drawings and project specifications.
• Monitor construction activities against approved project schedules and milestones.
• Ensure implementation of QA/QC requirements during mechanical construction activities.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and site safety procedures.
• Coordinate daily activities with the Site Manager, main contractor, client, and project teams.
• Identify and resolve site-related mechanical construction issues.
• Support effective coordination between construction, engineering, QA/QC, and HSE teams.
• Provide regular updates on site progress, activities, and project requirements.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of GCC construction experience.
• Experience in Oil & Gas and Desalination/RO projects.
• Strong experience in metallic piping erection.
• Hands-on experience in mechanical equipment installation and testing.
• Good knowledge of project specifications, QA/QC requirements, and HSE standards.
• Proven ability to supervise site manpower, materials, and daily construction activities.
• Strong coordination skills with Site Managers, contractors, clients, and project teams.
• Strong understanding of approved engineering drawings.
• Good knowledge of construction schedules and project execution requirements.
• Strong site supervision, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
