Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Planning Engineer for a 6-month extendable contract opportunity with a building consultancy in Doha, Qatar. The position requires a highly experienced planning professional with more than 10 years of directly related experience in planning and scheduling engineering and construction activities, including a minimum of 5 years of GCC experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating contractor progress documentation, including daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, progress presentations, and Extension of Time (EOT) claims. Strong building consultancy experience is mandatory, along with advanced proficiency in planning and project management software.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and monitor project schedules for engineering and construction activities.
• Review contractor daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Analyze contractor progress against approved project schedules and milestones.
• Review and comment on contractor progress presentations.
• Review and assess Extension of Time (EOT) claims.
• Monitor project progress, critical activities, delays, and schedule risks.
• Evaluate schedule updates and identify potential impacts on project completion.
• Coordinate planning and scheduling activities with consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Prepare planning reports, progress assessments, and schedule analyses.
• Support project teams with schedule forecasting and recovery planning.
• Review contractor planning documentation and provide technical comments.
• Utilize Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Excel, AutoCAD, Aconex, and Procore as required.
• Maintain accurate project records and planning documentation.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• MMUP Registration with a minimum Grade B.
• 10+ years of directly related experience in planning and scheduling engineering and construction activities.
• Minimum 5 years of GCC experience.
• Mandatory experience within a building consultancy environment.
• Strong experience reviewing contractor daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Experience reviewing contractor progress presentations.
• Experience reviewing and commenting on EOT claims.
• Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6 Professional.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Experience with Aconex and/or Procore.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical, reporting, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Must currently be located in Qatar.
• Must hold a valid QID.
• Must be available for immediate joining.
