Job Overview

Skills Hunt Consultancy is recruiting experienced Operations professionals on behalf of a reputed SMP Contractor for a long-term petrochemical and refinery project in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with extensive experience in refinery, petrochemical, and oil & gas operations who are seeking long-term career opportunities in one of the region’s leading industrial hubs.

Successful candidates will contribute to the safe and efficient operation of petrochemical facilities across multiple process units, including Olefins, HDPE, Polymer, MTBE, Utilities, C4, and Tank Farm operations. Key Responsibilities

Boardman

  • Monitor and control plant operations through Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
  • Maintain stable plant performance and optimize production efficiency.
  • Respond to operational alarms and process deviations.
  • Coordinate with field operators during plant start-up, shutdown, and emergency situations.
  • Ensure compliance with plant operating procedures and safety regulations.

Senior / Lead Operator / Field Operator

  • Operate and monitor assigned production units safely and efficiently.
  • Perform routine inspections of process equipment and operating parameters.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with engineering and maintenance teams.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure adherence to company safety and environmental standards.

Shift Supervisor

  • Supervise daily plant operations during assigned shifts.
  • Lead and coordinate operational teams to achieve production targets.
  • Ensure compliance with operational procedures and safety requirements.
  • Prepare operational reports and shift handover documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the operations department.

Operation Specialist

  • Provide technical expertise to improve operational performance.
  • Analyze plant performance and recommend process improvements.
  • Support troubleshooting and optimization activities.
  • Assist in implementing operational best practices.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve plant reliability.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Refinery operations.
  • Experience in the relevant operating area is mandatory.
  • Cryogenic experience is mandatory for Tank Farm positions.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of refinery and petrochemical plant operations.
  • Experience with process control systems and plant safety procedures.
  • Ability to troubleshoot operational issues.
  • Understanding of process optimization and plant reliability.
  • Strong operational documentation and reporting skills.
