Job Overview

Salma AI is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer (.NET) to support its engagement with one of Jordan’s leading banks. The role focuses on developing and operating the backend of a digital banking platform integrated with core banking systems in a regulated financial-services environment.

The successful candidate will work on banking capabilities including accounts, cards, transfers, instant payments, bill payments, loans, and loyalty services. The position requires strong expertise in .NET and C#, ASP.NET Core Web API, SQL Server, REST integrations, and secure backend development.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services for digital banking applications.
• Build scalable solutions using .NET and C#.
• Develop APIs using ASP.NET Core Web API.
• Design and maintain REST integrations with banking and financial systems.
• Work with SQL Server, including stored procedures and performance optimization.
• Support integrations with core banking systems.
• Develop solutions supporting accounts, cards, transfers, payments, bill payments, loans, and loyalty services.
• Apply security-conscious development practices within a regulated environment.
• Collaborate with frontend and technical teams using React and TypeScript where applicable.
• Take ownership of assigned technical work from development through delivery and support.
• Troubleshoot and resolve backend application and integration issues.
• Contribute to scalable and reliable digital banking solutions.

Requirements & Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional .NET/C# backend development experience.
• Strong experience with .NET and C#.
• Strong knowledge of ASP.NET Core Web API.
• Strong SQL Server skills, including stored procedures and performance optimization.
• Strong REST API integration experience.
• Previous banking or fintech experience.
• Experience with core banking, payments, or financial APIs.
• Security-minded approach to software development.
• Ability to work within regulated environments.
• Strong ownership, adaptability, and self-motivation.
• Experience with React and TypeScript is a strong advantage.
• Candidates should be based in Amman, Jordan.
