Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Safety Officer to support health, safety, and environmental compliance activities in Qatar. The position is suitable for professionals with 5–6 years of total experience, including GCC experience, and a strong understanding of site safety procedures and HSE requirements.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting workplace safety, risk assessment, compliance monitoring, and implementation of HSE policies and procedures. Candidates with a construction industry background and practical site safety experience are preferred.
This is a 1-month contract with the possibility of extension, providing an opportunity to strengthen professional experience in HSE and construction safety. Candidates can further support their career growth and professional development through recognized safety certifications, technical training, and continued HSE upskilling.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor HSE policies and site safety procedures.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
- Support risk assessments and recommend appropriate control measures.
- Monitor compliance with applicable safety procedures and project requirements.
- Promote safe working practices among site personnel and contractors.
- Identify unsafe conditions and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain safety records, reports, inspections, and related documentation.
- Support incident reporting and investigation activities where required.
- Conduct or assist with safety briefings and toolbox talks.
- Coordinate with project teams to address health and safety concerns.
- Monitor the use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safe working practices.
- Support continuous improvement of site safety and HSE compliance.
Requirements & Qualifications
- BSc Degree is mandatory.
- Minimum 5–6 years of total professional experience.
- GCC experience is required.
- NEBOSH certification is mandatory.
- IOSH certification is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of HSE policies and procedures.
- Good understanding of site safety procedures and risk assessments.
- Strong knowledge of safety compliance requirements.
- Construction industry experience is preferred.
- Strong communication, observation, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- Candidates available for immediate joining will be preferred.
- Additional HSE or safety-related certifications and training are advantageous.
