Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Information Security & Data Protection to manage and deliver cybersecurity, information security, and data protection projects within the Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) sector. The ideal candidate will have an Engineering degree and 6+ years of experience in Information Security or Data Protection Project Management.

The role involves leading information security projects across business applications and technology systems, ensuring delivery within defined scope, timelines, budgets, and quality standards. The successful candidate will work closely with IT, PMO, business, and information security teams to ensure technology solutions comply with organizational security policies and applicable regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage information security projects using Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Oversee project requirements, scope, timelines, budgets, dependencies, and deliverables.
• Lead information security and cybersecurity initiatives supporting business applications and technology systems.
• Coordinate with IT and PMO process owners to define and implement information security requirements.
• Ensure projects align with the organization’s Information Security Policy.
• Identify, assess, and proactively manage project risks and issues.
• Support EPMO and IT Project Managers with backlog management and requirements gathering.
• Help project teams balance priorities, scope, resources, and delivery objectives.
• Ensure business applications and technology solutions comply with information security policies and regulatory standards.
• Establish and maintain a strong risk and control environment throughout project implementation.
• Collaborate with Information Security, EPMO, IT, and business teams to improve security controls.
• Drive measurable and sustainable improvements in information security controls.
• Facilitate technical and business discussions with internal stakeholders.
• Support technology and application risk and control management.
• Monitor security-related project requirements and implementation progress.
• Prepare and communicate project status, risks, issues, and recommendations to stakeholders.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification.
• 6+ years of experience in Information Security / Data Protection Project Management within BFSI.
• Hands-on experience leading information security and cybersecurity projects.
• Strong understanding of application and technology architectural security principles.
• Knowledge of cyber threat assessments and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Understanding of firewalls, data protection, vulnerability scanning, and application security.
• Demonstrated expertise in technology and application risk and control management.
• Strong knowledge of Information Security and Data Protection standards, including:
  • ISO 27001
  • PCI DSS
  • UAE Information Assurance Standards (UAE IAS)
  • SWIFT CSP
  • GDPR
  • UAE Data Protection requirements
• Strong understanding of information security, data protection, banking, and IT systems.
• Ability to facilitate technical and business discussions effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and project management tools such as MS Project, SharePoint, JIRA, Asana, or equivalent platforms.
• Professional certifications such as CISA, CISM, CISSP, PRINCE2, PMP, RMP, Agile PM, PMI-ACP, or equivalent are advantageous.
