Job Overview

A career opportunity is available for an experienced Planning Engineer to join a manufacturing operation in Dammam Second Industrial City, Saudi Arabia. The role will focus on production and project planning, schedule management, resource coordination, progress monitoring, and ensuring that manufacturing activities remain aligned with project requirements and delivery timelines.

The Planning Engineer will work closely with Engineering, Procurement, Quality, and Production teams to develop and maintain effective schedules, identify potential delays and bottlenecks, and support corrective and recovery actions. The position requires strong analytical capabilities and practical experience with planning tools, ERP/MRP systems, production requirements, and manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and regularly update production and project schedules.
  • Plan and coordinate workshop activities, including fabrication, assembly, wiring, calibration, and testing.
  • Monitor actual progress against planned schedules and identify potential delays, constraints, and bottlenecks.
  • Develop and follow up on corrective and recovery actions to maintain production and project timelines.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Quality, and Production teams to ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Support resource, capacity, material, equipment, and manpower planning.
  • Prepare and maintain progress reports, S-curves, planning reports, and KPI dashboards.
  • Support estimation and planning activities, including Bills of Materials (BOM), labor requirements, material requirements, and machine-hour calculations.
  • Track material availability and procurement status against production and project schedules.
  • Provide timely planning updates and highlight schedule risks to relevant stakeholders.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 3–7 years of relevant planning experience.
  • Previous experience in instrumentation, control panel manufacturing, or a similar manufacturing industry is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for planning, analysis, and reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and cross-functional coordination abilities.
  • Good understanding of production planning, capacity utilization, material requirements, and resource allocation.
