Job Overview

An Environmental Officer is required for a one-year, extendable project assignment at Isola Dana Island in Qatar. The position is suited to an environmental professional with 3–5 years of experience in construction or infrastructure projects and practical knowledge of environmental compliance, reporting, and management systems.

The Environmental Officer will support environmental requirements throughout project activities, including compliance with Qatar environmental regulations, implementation of the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CESMP), environmental reporting, and monitoring of project activities against applicable standards. Knowledge of ISO 14001:2015 and Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS) 2024 is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor construction and infrastructure activities for compliance with environmental requirements.
• Support implementation and monitoring of the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CESMP).
• Ensure project activities comply with applicable Qatar environmental regulations.
• Monitor environmental performance and identify potential environmental risks and non-compliance issues.
• Prepare and maintain environmental reports and supporting documentation.
• Support environmental inspections, audits, and corrective-action activities.
• Apply relevant requirements of ISO 14001:2015 to project environmental management activities.
• Monitor compliance with applicable QCS 2024 requirements.
• Coordinate with project teams and contractors regarding environmental requirements.
• Maintain environmental records and documentation.
• Support implementation of environmental improvement and mitigation measures.
• Escalate environmental risks and compliance concerns to relevant project management personnel.

Requirements & Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in construction or infrastructure projects.
• Qatar or GCC experience is preferred.
• Degree or Diploma in an Environmental field.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001:2015.
• Knowledge of Qatar Environmental Regulations.
• Practical experience with Construction Environmental Management Plans (CESMP).
• Knowledge of QCS 2024.
• Experience preparing environmental reports.
• NEBOSH Environmental or HSE certification is preferred.
• Valid Qatar ID (QID) is mandatory.
• Strong environmental compliance, reporting, coordination, and documentation skills.
