Job Overview
A leading pharmaceutical manufacturing organization in Sulaymaniyah, Kurdistan Region, Iraq, is seeking an experienced Department Head – OSD Production to lead oral solid dosage manufacturing operations. The role is suited to an experienced pharmaceutical manufacturing professional with 10–15+ years of hands-on experience and strong exposure to both Oncology and Non-Oncology OSD production.
The successful candidate will provide shop-floor leadership across production planning, manufacturing operations, troubleshooting, manpower management, quality systems, and cross-functional coordination. The role requires strong knowledge of GMP, QMS, SOPs, BMR/BPRs, deviations, CAPA, change controls, investigations, audits, inspections, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day OSD manufacturing operations across the production department.
- Manage both Oncology and Non-Oncology OSD production activities.
- Provide hands-on leadership and troubleshooting support on the manufacturing shop floor.
- Plan production activities and ensure effective execution against production requirements.
- Manage manpower allocation, team performance, and production resources.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, QMS, SOPs, and pharmaceutical manufacturing procedures.
- Review and manage BMRs, BPRs, SOPs, deviations, CAPA, change controls, and investigations.
- Coordinate with QA, QC, Engineering, Warehouse, PPIC, EHS, and other support functions.
- Support internal and external audits, inspections, and regulatory requirements.
- Investigate manufacturing issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain strong standards for documentation, quality, safety, and operational compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement across OSD manufacturing processes and shop-floor operations.
Requirements & Qualifications
- 10–15+ years of pharmaceutical manufacturing experience.
- Strong hands-on experience in OSD manufacturing.
- Mandatory experience in both Oncology and Non-Oncology OSD production.
- Proven shop-floor manufacturing and troubleshooting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GMP and Quality Management Systems.
- Strong practical experience with:
- SOPs
- BMRs/BPRs
- Deviations
- CAPA
- Change Controls
- Investigations
- Experience in production planning and manpower management.
- Proven team leadership and cross-functional coordination capabilities.
- Experience supporting audits, inspections, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing documentation and compliance.
- Ability to work in a hands-on, shop-floor-oriented leadership role.
- Pharmaceutical manufacturing experience in GCC markets is highly relevant.
