Marc Ellis is hiring an experienced Data Engineer (Python) for a 12-month extendable contract based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Experience within the banking industry is preferred.

The successful candidate will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and data processing solutions while supporting enterprise data initiatives. Key Responsibilities

Core Python Development

• Develop and maintain scalable backend applications using Python.
• Build and support RESTful APIs using FastAPI and Flask.
• Design asynchronous applications utilizing AsyncIO.
• Develop and maintain microservices-based solutions.
• Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.

Security Best Practices

• Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms.
• Secure APIs using OAuth, JWT, and API gateway technologies.
• Apply security best practices across microservices environments.
• Ensure data protection and secure application development standards.

Web Framework Development

• Design and develop scalable backend web applications.
• Collaborate with frontend teams to integrate backend services.
• Utilize framework capabilities including routing, authentication, testing, and database integration.
• Maintain secure, reliable, and high-performing applications.

Object Relational Mapping (ORM)

• Develop backend services exposing enterprise datasets through APIs.
• Build and maintain data access layers using ORM frameworks.
• Perform efficient CRUD operations and database transactions.
• Utilize SQLAlchemy, Django ORM, or equivalent ORM technologies.

Data Transformation & Database Management

• Design and maintain relational and NoSQL database schemas.
• Optimize SQL queries and overall database performance.

• Ensure efficient data retrieval, processing, and integration.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on Python development experience.
