A leading organization is hiring an experienced Data Centre Engineer for a dispatch-based project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Key Responsibilities
- Perform data centre break-fix support for enterprise hardware.
- Inspect equipment and assess hardware status.
- Reboot routers, servers, storage devices, and networking equipment.
- Test circuits using loop-back cables.
- Replace or reseat hardware components and cables.
- Disconnect and reconnect AC/DC power safely.
- Clean networking equipment, connectors, and fiber infrastructure.
- Connect customer-provided testing equipment.
- Swap removable storage media.
- Install or replace modular hardware components.
- Coordinate hardware dispatch for repair.
- Measure optical light levels.
- Install loop-back connections.
- Support planned maintenance and circuit migration activities.
- Install SFP and GBIC modules.
- Troubleshoot server and network hardware issues.
- Rack, de-rack, install, and relocate equipment.
- Label equipment and maintain inventory records.
- Capture serial numbers and equipment photographs.
- Perform tape backup cassette exchanges.
- Power cycle routers, switches, and servers.
- Follow approved data eradication procedures.
- Install cables and optical components for new circuits.
- Replace or reconnect existing circuits.
- Test cables and optical infrastructure.
- Perform structured cabling and cable management.
- Install fiber, copper, and power cabling.
- Rack, stack, and install networking hardware.
- Support installation of PDUs, network switches, and related equipment.
- Complete e-waste disposal and data centre housekeeping activities.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Network Administrator or Data Centre Engineer.
- Practical experience with data centre break-fix support.
- Hands-on experience in networking, routing, and switching.
- Experience configuring server hardware.
- Knowledge of server infrastructure monitoring and management.
- Experience with firewall technologies and VPN implementation is preferred.
- Familiarity with backup and recovery methodologies.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and multitasking abilities.
