Job Overview

JATCO is seeking a skilled Geomatics Specialist I to support surveying, GIS, mapping, CAD drafting, geospatial analysis, and advanced geomatics activities. The position is suited to professionals with technical expertise in modern geospatial technologies and applications across surveying, mapping, spatial data management, and related engineering disciplines.

The successful candidate will work with technologies and methodologies including GIS, ArcGIS, CAD, 2D/3D geospatial analysis, 3D laser scanning, hydrography, cartography, photogrammetry, geodesy, and remote sensing. Experience in hydrographic and nautical charting is highly preferred, particularly in hydrographic data processing, Electronic Navigational Chart (ENC) production, chart publication workflows, QA/QC, and data management. Key Responsibilities

• Perform geomatics, surveying, mapping, and geospatial analysis activities.
• Support GIS projects using ArcGIS and related geospatial technologies.
• Develop and work with CAD-based mapping and drafting projects.
• Conduct 2D and 3D geospatial analysis.
• Support projects involving 3D laser scanning technologies.
• Apply principles and techniques related to hydrography, cartography, photogrammetry, geodesy, and remote sensing.
• Process and manage hydrographic survey data.
• Support Electronic Navigational Chart (ENC) and paper chart production.
• Work with ENC encryption and distribution protocols.
• Apply hydrographic survey techniques and established data-processing workflows.
• Perform Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) activities.
• Support geospatial data management and publication workflows.
• Assist with Notice to Mariners-related data and publication activities.
• Maintain accuracy, consistency, and quality of geospatial information.
• Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders on geomatics and mapping requirements.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Professional experience in geomatics, surveying, GIS, mapping, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong knowledge of GIS and ArcGIS.
• Experience with CAD and mapping projects.
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D geospatial analysis.
• Experience with 3D laser scanning technologies.
• Knowledge of:
  • Hydrography
  • Cartography
  • Photogrammetry
  • Geodesy
  • Remote Sensing
• Hydrographic and nautical charting experience is highly preferred.
• Experience with hydrographic data processing.
• Knowledge of ENC and paper chart production.
• Understanding of ENC encryption and distribution protocols.

• Knowledge of QA/QC procedures for geospatial and hydrographic data.
• Experience with data management and publication workflows.
• Familiarity with Notice to Mariners processes is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, technical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Candidates currently available locally in Saudi Arabia are preferred.
