Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT Technical Lead – Card Issuing & Payments to support banking and payment technology initiatives in Abu Dhabi. The role is suited to professionals with strong experience in banking, card issuing, payment processing, and Card Management Systems (CMS), with a focus on issuer processing and payment ecosystem integrations.

The successful candidate will work across Visa and Mastercard schemes, ISO 8583, EMV, authorization, clearing, settlement, reconciliation, 3DS, tokenization, digital wallets, core banking integrations, APIs, and middleware. The position also involves requirements management, UAT, certification, production support, incident management, root-cause analysis, and coordination with vendors and payment schemes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical activities related to card issuing and payment technology solutions.
• Manage and support Card Management Systems (CMS) and issuer processing platforms.
• Support card issuing and payment processing initiatives across the banking environment.
• Coordinate technical implementation of card products and payment solutions.
• Work with Visa and Mastercard payment schemes.
• Manage integrations involving ISO 8583 and EMV technologies.
• Support authorization, clearing, settlement, and reconciliation processes.
• Work with 3DS, tokenization, and digital wallet technologies.
• Coordinate integrations with core banking systems, APIs, and middleware platforms.
• Prepare and review Business Requirements Documents (BRDs).
• Coordinate UAT activities and certification processes.
• Support project planning and technical coordination.
• Provide production support for card issuing and payment platforms.
• Manage incidents and conduct root-cause analysis (RCA).
• Coordinate with technology vendors and payment schemes.
• Collaborate with banking, IT, business, and project stakeholders.
• Support implementation and continuous improvement of payment technology solutions.

Requirements & Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in banking, card issuing, payments, or related technology environments.
• Strong experience with Card Management Systems (CMS) and issuer processing.
• Experience in banking and payment technology implementations.
• Knowledge of Visa, Mastercard, ISO 8583, and EMV.
• Strong understanding of authorization, clearing, settlement, and reconciliation.
• Experience with 3DS, tokenization, and digital wallets.
• Knowledge of core banking systems and API/middleware integrations.
• Experience with BRD preparation, UAT, certification, and project coordination.
• Strong production support and incident management experience.
• Ability to conduct root-cause analysis and resolve complex technical issues.
• Strong vendor and payment-scheme coordination skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management capabilities.
• Strong technical leadership and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience

• Jaywan co-badged card issuing experience is highly desirable.
• UAE banking experience is a strong advantage.
• Direct Jaywan implementation experience is a strong advantage.
• Experience working with local banking and payment ecosystems is preferred.
