Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior SmartPlant Foundation (SPF) Developer / Administrator for an onsite contract position in Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have 5–10 years of hands-on SPF experience, with strong expertise in development, administration, customization, engineering data management, and document lifecycle processes within Oil & Gas or engineering environments.
The role will involve working with SPF data models, workflows, business rules, interfaces, automation, system integrations, data migration, reporting, and database technologies. Experience integrating Smart 3D, SmartPlant P&ID, SmartPlant Instrumentation, SAP, and third-party systems will be highly valuable.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, administer, customize, and maintain SmartPlant Foundation environments.
- Configure SPF data models, objects, relationships, and business rules.
- Develop and customize SPF workflows.
- Configure document approval, change, revision, and lifecycle workflows.
- Develop and maintain SPF templates, methods, interfaces, and automation.
- Integrate SPF with Smart 3D, SmartPlant P&ID, and SmartPlant Instrumentation.
- Support SAP and third-party system integrations.
- Perform data migration activities while maintaining data integrity.
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries.
- Work with Oracle and SQL Server databases.
- Develop and maintain Crystal Reports and custom reporting solutions.
- Use VBScript, PowerShell, and .NET for development and automation activities.
- Administer SPF environments, including RBAC and system configuration.
- Support SPF upgrades, troubleshooting, and performance-related issues.
- Support engineering and asset lifecycle information management.
- Manage document control and engineering data processes.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide effective solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering, IT, document control, and project stakeholders.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
- 5–10 years of SmartPlant Foundation (SPF) experience.
- Strong hands-on experience in SPF development, administration, and customization.
- Experience in Oil & Gas or Engineering Data Management environments.
- Strong knowledge of SPF data models, objects, relationships, and business rules.
- Experience developing and customizing SPF workflows.
- Knowledge of document approval, change, revision, and lifecycle management.
- Experience with SPF templates, methods, interfaces, and automation.
- Experience integrating Smart 3D, SmartPlant P&ID, and SmartPlant Instrumentation.
- Experience with SAP and third-party system integration.
- Strong knowledge of data migration and data integrity practices.
- Experience with Oracle and SQL Server.
- Strong SQL and complex query development skills.
- Experience with Crystal Reports and custom reporting.
- Knowledge of VBScript, PowerShell, and .NET.
- Strong SPF administration, RBAC, upgrade, and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Understanding of engineering and asset lifecycle management and document control.
- Hexagon / SPF certification is an advantage.
