Job Overview

Sycomp is seeking a Data Center Technician II to support enterprise IT infrastructure integration and deployment activities at its Integration Center in Cavite, Philippines. The role focuses on building, configuring, validating, and troubleshooting enterprise technology infrastructure, including servers, storage platforms, networking equipment, rack systems, power distribution components, and structured cabling.

The successful candidate will work with technical documentation, rack elevations, build instructions, cable matrices, bills of materials, and installation procedures to ensure equipment is correctly assembled, configured, tested, and prepared for customer deployment. The position requires strong hands-on technical skills, attention to detail, independent problem-solving, and the ability to work effectively in a warehouse-based systems integration environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and integrate enterprise technology solutions within a data center and systems integration environment.
• Install, rack, cable, and validate servers, storage systems, networking devices, power equipment, and console infrastructure.
• Interpret engineering documentation, rack elevations, build instructions, cable matrices, bills of materials, and installation procedures.
• Install and validate copper, fiber optic, DAC, AOC, console, and power cabling.
• Troubleshoot hardware, connectivity, configuration, and documentation-related issues.
• Perform equipment power-up, firmware updates, provisioning, and validation procedures.
• Support BIOS, RAID, management controller, server, storage, and network device configurations when required.
• Conduct connectivity testing, redundancy validation, failover testing, burn-in testing, and project-specific quality assurance activities.
• Document technical issues, corrective actions, validation results, and project completion status accurately.
• Maintain compliance with quality, operational, and workplace safety standards.
• Assist with inventory management, hardware handling, staging, and project preparation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Integration Center.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior technicians when required.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience in a data center, systems integration, telecommunications, IT infrastructure, technical operations, or enterprise hardware environment.
• Hands-on experience with rack-mounted servers, network switches, storage systems, and structured cabling.
• Knowledge of data center hardware installation, troubleshooting, and validation processes.
• Understanding of Ethernet networking, connectivity testing, and fundamental networking concepts.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow technical documentation and installation procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a warehouse-based integration and technical staging environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting enterprise server, storage, or networking technologies.
• Familiarity with firmware upgrades and infrastructure validation procedures.
• Exposure to data center deployments, systems integration, or infrastructure projects.
• CompTIA A+, Network+, Server+, CCNA, or similar industry certifications.
• Experience working in project-based technical delivery environments.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform hands-on technical work throughout the workday.
• Ability to safely lift, move, install, and handle IT equipment.
• Ability to work around server racks, tools, packaging materials, and cabling infrastructure.
• Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout a warehouse and integration center environment.
• Ability to follow company health and safety procedures.
