Job Overview

Sycomp is seeking a Logistics Specialist to join its growing Middle East operations team in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, on a contract basis. The role will support logistics and operational activities across Saudi Arabia, with a strong focus on import and export management, customs compliance, freight coordination, warehouse operations, and supply chain execution.

The successful candidate will work closely with regional teams, customers, suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, government entities, and other stakeholders. The position requires a proactive professional who can manage multiple priorities, resolve operational challenges independently, and contribute to establishing and strengthening Sycomp’s local logistics presence in the Kingdom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate import, export, domestic transportation, courier, air freight, and ocean freight shipments within Saudi Arabia.
  • Support customs clearance activities and ensure compliance with applicable Saudi import and export regulations.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain commercial invoices, packing lists, AWBs, BOLs, customs declarations, permits, and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, suppliers, customers, and regional teams.
  • Proactively track shipments and communicate delivery risks, delays, customs holds, and status updates.
  • Investigate and resolve shipment discrepancies, documentation issues, damaged cargo claims, and delivery exceptions.
  • Support warehouse activities including receiving, inventory verification, labeling, packing, stock counts, shipment staging, and asset handling.
  • Maintain accurate logistics, inventory, and operational records within company systems.
  • Conduct visits to suppliers, logistics providers, warehouses, customer locations, and other external stakeholders when required.
  • Assist with local operational, administrative, compliance, and governmental processes.
  • Collaborate with Middle East and APAC teams to support customer delivery commitments and operational initiatives.
  • Identify and implement process improvements focused on compliance, operational visibility, service quality, efficiency, and cost optimization.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in logistics, freight forwarding, customs brokerage, import/export operations, warehouse operations, or supply chain coordination.
  • Strong understanding of Saudi Arabia customs procedures and import/export regulations.
  • Practical knowledge of shipping documentation and international transportation processes.
  • Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, suppliers, and warehouse partners.
  • Strong knowledge of international shipping and freight coordination.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-changing operational environment.
  • Fluency in Arabic and professional English communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to support responsibilities beyond traditional logistics functions when required.

Preferred Experience

  • IT hardware, technology distribution, data center, or project-based logistics.
  • GCC or broader Middle East logistics operations.
  • Free Zone and bonded warehouse operations.
  • Certificate of Origin and international trade compliance processes.
  • Inventory control, receiving, packaging, labeling, and shipment discrepancy management.
  • Experience working with local authorities, regulatory bodies, vendors, and customers.
  • Experience supporting the establishment or expansion of logistics operations in a new market.
