Job Overview
A company in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Engineer to manage engineering procurement activities for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems. The role is focused on sourcing materials and equipment, supplier management, commercial negotiations, procurement planning, and ensuring that project requirements are fulfilled within the required quality, cost, and delivery parameters.
The successful candidate will manage procurement activities across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire fighting, ELV, and Building Management Systems (BMS). The position requires strong technical knowledge of MEP systems combined with procurement expertise, including RFQ management, technical and commercial evaluations, supplier negotiations, purchase order follow-up, and coordination with project, engineering, planning, and finance teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage procurement and supply of MEP materials and equipment according to project requirements.
- Prepare and issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and follow up with suppliers to obtain technical and commercial proposals.
- Prepare technical and financial comparison tables and recommend suitable suppliers.
- Analyze supplier pricing and commercial terms to identify the best procurement options.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, supply conditions, and warranties with suppliers.
- Coordinate with project, engineering, planning, and finance teams to align procurement activities with project requirements.
- Follow up on purchase orders and supplier commitments to ensure materials and equipment arrive according to project schedules.
- Develop, assess, and maintain an effective supplier base.
- Evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery performance, and overall value.
- Monitor procurement status and prepare periodic reports covering orders, deliveries, risks, and potential delays.
- Support proactive resolution of procurement and supply-chain risks affecting project execution.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of practical procurement experience, including at least 5 years in MEP system procurement.
- Strong procurement experience with:
- HVAC and air-conditioning systems.
- Electrical systems.
- Plumbing systems.
- Fire fighting systems.
- ELV and light-current systems.
- BMS and Building Management Systems.
- Previous experience in construction, contracting, or facilities management projects.
- Strong experience preparing and managing RFQs and working with suppliers.
- Ability to conduct technical and financial comparisons of supplier offers.
- Strong price-analysis and supplier-negotiation skills.
- Ability to read and understand MEP drawings, technical specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
- Experience using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Odoo, or equivalent platforms.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills for analysis, comparisons, and procurement reporting.
- Strong communication, coordination, negotiation, and analytical skills.
Salary, Benefits & Career Growth
Salary: Up to SAR 17,000 per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
