Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to and validate functional analyses based on business requirements.
• Translate business requirements into reliable and scalable technical solutions.
• Develop, maintain, and adapt Java applications according to development standards and project objectives.
• Ensure applications comply with security requirements and technical standards.
• Perform software testing, code reviews, technical documentation, and release management activities.
• Support deployment and application delivery processes.
• Maintain and improve existing enterprise applications.
• Resolve incidents and software defects while conducting root-cause analysis.
• Implement sustainable technical improvements to improve application reliability and performance.
• Provide application support to users and contribute to support procedures.
• Monitor service availability, response times, and relevant application KPIs.
• Collaborate with IT teams, business stakeholders, and other project participants.
• Communicate project progress and technical matters effectively.
• Participate in Agile meetings and development activities.
• Proactively identify and recommend technical and operational improvements.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Degree in Information Technology or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong Java development experience with Java 7, 8, 11, and/or 17.
• Strong knowledge of Spring and JEE.
• Experience with SQL Server and REST APIs.
• Understanding of concurrency and multithreading.
• Experience with application servers and integration technologies.
• Familiarity with technologies such as GlassFish, WildFly, ActiveMQ, OpenMQ, SOAP, RMI, and ESB environments.
• Experience with Maven, Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, Jira, and Docker.
• Familiarity with Eclipse or IntelliJ.
• Experience with SoapUI or ReadyAPI is an advantage.
• Knowledge of deployment automation platforms.
• Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Understanding of containerization and preferably Kubernetes.
• Strong knowledge of secure software development practices.
• Understanding of API security, encryption, dependency management, and Spring Security.
• Familiarity with SonarQube and OWASP security tools.
• Understanding of relevant data protection and security standards.
• Fluency in English.
• Working proficiency in either Dutch or French.
• Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
