Job Overview

Onyx Scientific & Laboratory Supplies, a provider of laboratory instruments, scientific solutions, and laboratory consumables, is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Service Engineer to join its team in Amman, Jordan. The position will provide technical service and customer support for laboratory instruments and equipment across the Jordanian market.

The successful candidate will be responsible for installation, commissioning, qualification, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of laboratory instruments at customer sites. The role also includes equipment demonstrations, user training, technical support, service documentation, warranty support, and coordination with international suppliers and manufacturers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, and qualify laboratory instruments and equipment at customer sites.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of laboratory instruments.
  • Diagnose technical problems and provide effective solutions within required response times.
  • Respond to customer service requests and provide professional technical support.
  • Conduct equipment demonstrations and provide user training and operational support.
  • Prepare service, maintenance, installation, and other required technical reports.
  • Maintain accurate service records and update activities in ERP/CRM systems.
  • Follow up on pending service cases, spare parts, and customer requirements through to completion.
  • Coordinate with sales, logistics, administration, and manufacturers to resolve technical issues.
  • Communicate with international suppliers and manufacturers regarding technical problems, spare parts, manuals, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Maintain current knowledge of laboratory instruments, applications, software, and technical developments.
  • Support warranty and after-sales service activities.
  • Ensure all service activities follow company procedures and manufacturer recommendations.
  • Provide technical assistance to customers throughout the Jordanian market as required.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in technical service or maintenance.
  • Good understanding of laboratory instruments and their basic operating principles.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals, electrical diagrams, and instrument documentation.
  • Good computer skills and ability to work with software and ERP systems.
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Good time-management and organizational skills.
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Valid driving license and own car.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites across Jordan.
