Job Overview

Dautom is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer specializing in Java Backend development to support a large-scale digital services platform in Sharjah, UAE. The role is focused on designing, developing, testing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and high-performance backend systems and APIs.

The successful candidate will work hands-on with Java 11+, Spring Boot, Oracle Database, REST and SOAP web services, API security, and enterprise application servers. The position involves end-to-end software engineering responsibilities, from solution design and implementation through testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and production support.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-performance, scalable Java backend systems and APIs.
• Build, maintain, and optimize backend applications and databases.
• Develop and integrate REST and SOAP web services.
• Implement API security and data-protection controls across backend services.
• Work with JWT, Spring Security, OAuth2, and OIDC security mechanisms.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested Java code.
• Debug and resolve application and production issues efficiently.
• Perform database development and optimization using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
• Work with indexing, query tuning, and execution plans to improve database performance.
• Deploy, tune, and troubleshoot applications using Oracle WebLogic and Apache Tomcat.
• Produce clear technical documentation.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to software quality initiatives.
• Collaborate with product managers, stakeholders, service providers, and cross-functional technical teams.
• Translate technical requirements into effective software solutions.
• Stay current with relevant backend development tools, technologies, and engineering practices.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on software engineering experience at a senior level.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with Java development.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with Oracle Database.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java 11+ and Spring Boot.
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, OOP, design patterns, software architecture, database design, and UML.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
• Knowledge of indexing, query tuning, and reading execution plans.
• Experience designing and consuming REST and SOAP web services.
• Strong understanding of API security, including JWT access and refresh tokens.
• Experience with Spring Security and OAuth2/OIDC.
• Experience with Oracle WebLogic and Apache Tomcat.
• Ability to perform application server deployment, tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and technical documentation abilities.
• Candidates must currently be based in the UAE.
• Availability to join immediately or within 30 days.
