A growing technology team in Dubai is seeking an experienced Python Backend Developer with 3–5 years of hands-on experience in backend development. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems and RESTful APIs that support reliable and high-performing applications.

The role involves close collaboration with frontend developers, product managers, and QA engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions. The successful candidate will contribute to backend architecture, code quality, testing, performance optimization, technical documentation, and Agile development processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems and RESTful APIs using Python.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure seamless API integration.
• Write clean, structured, scalable, and maintainable code.
• Follow software development best practices and coding standards.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to backend architecture improvements.
• Develop and maintain unit and integration tests.
• Identify and resolve application bugs and performance bottlenecks.
• Work within an Agile/Scrum development environment.
• Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Maintain technical documentation for backend systems and APIs.
• Collaborate with product managers and QA engineers throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and backend solutions.

Requirements & Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Python backend development.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Experience with at least one modern Python framework such as Django, FastAPI, or Flask.
• Proven experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Good understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Knowledge of non-relational databases such as MongoDB or similar technologies.
• Familiarity with ORM tools and database query optimization.
• Experience with Git and modern version-control practices.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and client-server architecture.
• Experience with Jira or similar project management tools.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and software deployment processes.
• Experience using AI development tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar solutions.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Good to Have

• Experience with Docker or other containerization technologies.
• Knowledge of message brokers and asynchronous processing tools such as Redis or Celery.
• Exposure to cloud platforms including AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Familiarity with frontend technologies such as Angular or React.
