Job Overview

We are seeking a hands-on AI Engineer for a remote opportunity supporting projects within the pharmaceutical industry. The ideal candidate will have strong Python and React development experience, combined with practical expertise in Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI, AI Search, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI Agents, and SQL.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development and implementation of AI-powered applications, intelligent search solutions, RAG applications, and agentic AI systems. The role requires practical experience with modern AI technologies, model evaluation, optimization, and software development, with the ability to translate technical capabilities into reliable enterprise solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop AI-powered applications using Python and modern AI technologies.
• Build responsive application interfaces using React.
• Develop and integrate solutions using Azure OpenAI and Azure AI Services.
• Design and implement RAG-based applications and intelligent search solutions.
• Develop and support AI Agent and agentic AI applications.
• Work with Azure AI Search for intelligent information retrieval and enterprise search capabilities.
• Integrate SQL databases into AI and application workflows.
• Evaluate AI models and application performance using appropriate evaluation methodologies.
• Optimize AI models and solutions for accuracy, performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Develop APIs and software components required to integrate AI capabilities into enterprise applications.
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver AI solutions.
• Apply software engineering best practices to AI application development.
• Continuously research and evaluate emerging AI technologies and development approaches.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Strong professional experience with Python development.
• Strong experience with React development.
• Hands-on experience with Azure AI Services.
• Strong experience with Azure OpenAI.
• Practical experience with Azure AI Search.
• Strong understanding and hands-on experience with RAG applications.
• Experience developing or integrating AI Agents and agentic AI solutions.
• Strong SQL knowledge and database experience.
• Experience with AI model evaluation and optimization.
• Understanding of generative AI and modern AI application architectures.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Relevant degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field is preferred.
• Relevant Azure AI, cloud, machine learning, or generative AI certification is an advantage.
