Job Overview

Fanar Arabian International is seeking an experienced Planning Engineer to support construction project planning and project controls activities in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have 5–8 years of experience as a Planning Engineer within the construction industry, with strong expertise in Primavera P6, MS Project, project scheduling, progress monitoring, and delay analysis.

The Planning Engineer will play an important role in developing and maintaining project schedules, monitoring project performance against approved baselines, analyzing critical activities and delays, and supporting recovery and mitigation planning. The position requires close coordination with project managers, site engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
• Prepare and update project baseline schedules.
• Monitor project progress against approved schedules.
• Analyze project delays, critical activities, and schedule performance.
• Prepare recovery and mitigation plans for schedule delays.
• Coordinate planning activities with project managers, site engineers, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Prepare weekly and monthly project progress reports.
• Track project milestones, deliverables, and key schedule activities.
• Support project resource and manpower planning.
• Provide accurate schedule forecasts to support effective project execution.
• Conduct critical path analysis and delay analysis.
• Monitor project performance and identify potential schedule risks.

• Support project control activities and construction planning processes.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related Engineering discipline.
• 5–8 years of experience as a Planning Engineer in the construction industry.
• Strong proficiency in Primavera P6.
• Strong proficiency in MS Project.
• Excellent knowledge of project scheduling and progress tracking.
• Strong understanding of critical path analysis and delay analysis.
• Mandatory experience in residential, commercial, and villa construction projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Good understanding of construction methods, project control, and project reporting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Candidates must be currently residing in Saudi Arabia.
