Job Overview

Linnk Group is hiring an experienced Senior Substation Protection & Control Engineer for a 6-month renewable contract in Saudi Arabia. This opportunity is ideal for electrical engineering professionals with extensive experience in Extra High Voltage (EHV) substations, protection and control systems, and utility infrastructure projects. Candidates currently based in Saudi Arabia or available for immediate joining are highly preferred.

The successful candidate will contribute to the design, implementation, testing, and commissioning of protection and control systems for 380/400kV substations. Working on large-scale SEC and EPC projects, this role offers excellent opportunities for professional development, technical upskilling, and long-term career growth within the power transmission and electrical infrastructure sector.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, review, and implement protection and control systems for EHV substations.
  • Develop and verify secondary engineering drawings and documentation.
  • Configure and support Control Relay Panels (CRP), Substation Automation Systems (SAS), SCADA, RTU, Telecom, and LV Auxiliary Systems.
  • Perform protection relay coordination and engineering calculations.
  • Conduct CT/VT sizing and secondary engineering calculations.
  • Support testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and system integration activities.
  • Collaborate with EPC teams, utilities, and project stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
  • Utilize ETAP, DIgSILENT, CANECO, or equivalent engineering software for system studies and analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with SEC standards, project specifications, and engineering best practices.
  • Prepare technical reports, engineering documentation, and project deliverables.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering with EHV substations.
  • Valid Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) approval is mandatory.
  • Valid Saudi Iqama is required.
  • Proven experience with 380/400kV Extra High Voltage (EHV) substations.
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Protection & Control (CRP)
    • Substation Automation Systems (SAS)
    • SCADA
    • RTU
    • Telecom Systems
    • LV Auxiliary Systems
  • Experience working on Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) projects and EPC environments.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • ETAP
    • DIgSILENT
    • CANECO (or equivalent software)
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Protection Relays
    • Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs)
    • Bay Control Units (BCU)
    • CT/VT calculations
    • Secondary Engineering
  • Strong analytical, communication, and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Immediate joiners or candidates currently located in Saudi Arabia are preferred.
